Ten Principles of Mold Design Parting

1. Consideration of clamping force
The lateral clamping force of the die is relatively small, so for large-scale products with large projection area, the direction of large projection area should be placed in the front and rear die opening and closing direction, and the smaller projection area should be regarded as the lateral parting.
2. Meet the requirements of product demoulding
The parting surface is also for the product to take out the mould smoothly. Therefore, the position of the parting surface should be chosen at the position with the largest cross-section size of the product, which is a basic principle.
3. Shape of parting surface
Generally, a parting surface perpendicular to the direction of the opening motion of the injection moulding machine is often used for products, and other parting surfaces are only used for special cases. The shape of parting surface is based on the principle of easy processing and demoulding. For a curved product like this, the curvature of its bending must be determined when it is typed.
4. Ensure product appearance and quality
The parting surface should not be chosen on the smooth surface of the product. Generally speaking, the appearance surface does not allow the appearance of clamping lines and other lines affecting beauty; some products with concentricity requirements have to put all the parts with concentricity requirements on the same side, so as to ensure their concentricity.
5. Orientation determination
When determining the orientation of the product in the die, the selection of parting surface should try to prevent the product from forming side holes or side buckles, and avoid using complex die structure.
6. Favorable for demoulding
Generally, the demoulding mechanism of the die is in the moving die, so the product should be left in the moving die as far as possible when choosing the parting surface. Therefore, in some places where it is possible to stick to the die, we often add a die-setting aided demoulding mechanism.
7. Considering the Lateral Opening Distance
Generally, the distance of lateral mechanical die opening is relatively small. Therefore, when choosing parting surface, the direction of long core-pulling distance should be chosen in the direction of opening and closing of front and rear die, and the short direction should be regarded as lateral parting.
8. Die parts are easy to process
When choosing parting surface, the die should be divided into parts which are easy to process, so as to reduce the difficulty of machining.
9. Favorable for exhaust
When the parting surface is used as the main exhaust gas, the parting surface should be designed at the end of the plastic flow to facilitate the exhaust gas.
10, R typing
For many products in die design, there is a whole circle of R angle at the parting surface. At this time, the parting should take into account the best parting of R, and the sharp side can not appear.
