"Mould handling, the mentality is different, it took almost a year and a half, but also slowly learned the drawings, familiar with the whole set of mold processing process." Talking about the apprenticeship period, Zhao Lei felt deeply.
Mold manufacturing is an abstract and delicate work. The slightest error in size and bending will affect product quality. Zhao Lei, with his unique talent for solid geometry and hard work, soon became a master and became a die fitter. Die fitters take piece-by-piece wages, because Zhao Lei's craftsmanship is excellent, down-to-earth and willing to work, wages also rose from 30 yuan a month to 7,000 yuan, second only to the company's chairman and general manager.
With a stretch of tenacity, Zhao Lei has always adhered to the front line, gradually adapted to the high-intensity work, self-taught to learn to look at drawings, and developed new products. He often sleeps only four or five hours a day to improve new products, creating tremendous value for businesses. From the outsider's point of view, die production is dull and boring. It needs continuous polishing, calibration and revision, but Zhao Lei feels that it is precisely the innumerable polishing that can better reflect the perseverance of this work. He said: "Die is known as the father of industry. It can realize assembly line production. The more developed industry, the higher the need for die technical personnel. ” Based on this understanding, Zhao Lei often makes bold improvements to the existing die structure and die processing technology. The improved and developed die not only has a long service life, but also has a very stable quality.
Up to now, he has participated in the research and development of more than 900 sets of molds to overcome difficulties. The efficiency has been improved by 30%. He has carried out more than 160 technological innovations and created nearly 100 million yuan of output value for enterprises.
In 2009, Zhao Lei's company received the help of Haier Company, a cooperative unit. Some of its moulds need to be repaired urgently, and at least five products need to be created to attend the new product launch in a week. Time is tight and the task is heavy. The company gave the task to Zhao Lei for the first time. In the absence of drawings, Zhao Lei made drawings according to the size of 1:1 by measuring the earth of objects with meters. He worked overtime to build 500 products for them. The whole process of dressing and making took only two days and three nights.
As a result of the whole project, Zhao Lei has been working for two days and three nights without closing his eyes. After leaving the workshop, he fell head on the sculpture at the entrance of the company. He was found by his colleagues and sent to the People's Hospital of Leling City for medical treatment. After being diagnosed as myocarditis by doctors, he suggested that he reduce work and pay attention to rest. But after two days of rest, he returned to work immediately. "There's still a lot of work to be done in the workshop, and the disciples have been calling to ask questions. I can't rest assured at home." Zhao Lei said.
With his obsession with the die industry, Zhao Lei has been studying on the road of die development, gradually growing from a layman to a "die expert". In 2006, Zhao Lei won the Labor Medal of Fumin Xinglu in Shandong Province, becoming one of the seven peasant workers who won this honor in that year.
